The dosing calculation is;
Time [seconds] = (Dose [J/cm^2] x 1000 [mW/W]) / Irradiance (mW/cm^2)
For superficial tissue the desired dosing is between 2 and 10 Joules/cm2. Please see three different dose calculations below for your reference. Compensations need to be made for pulsed LED as the light is only on for 50% of the time, so treatment times should be doubled.
mw/cm2 = 30mw/cm2
desired dose = 2 Joules/cm2
Treatment time = 1.1 minutes x 2 = 2.2 minutes
mw/cm2 = 30mw/cm2
desired dose = 4 Joules/cm2
Treatment time = 2.1 minutes x 2 = 4.2 minutes
mw/cm2 = 30mw/cm2
desired dose = 6 Joules/cm2
Treatment time = 3.6 minutes x 2 = 7.2 minutes
Individuals will respond differently depending on the redox state of their cells. Our 6 minute treatment time is taken as a recommended treatment time to ensure that all individuals will fall within the required dosing window and benefit from their treatment.
