Clinical studies show that pulsed light in general gives better outcomes for healing and biostimulation over regular, non-pulsed red light, with various pulsed light frequencies from 1 to 1400 Hz. There is currently not enough data to pinpoint an optimal frequency but current data suggests that lower frequencies, from 1 to 100Hz, may give an advantage. For this reason, Maysama Pulse40 panel offers three options pulsed light at low frequency; 30Hz, 20Hz and 10Hz.
One frequency is not necessarily better than another as it will depend on the biodiversity of individuals. As with treatment times and irradiance, there are no exact answers. We are simply working within optimal ‘windows’. Some individuals may respond better to one frequency than another.
When using Maysama Pulse40 LED panel, our recommendation would be to select 30Hz, as it is a slightly higher frequency, which flashes faster and therefore is less distracting than 10 or 20Hz. Please always wear goggles when using pulsed LED light with your Pulse40 LED panel.
By comparison, Maysama’s Prana LED Light Therapy Mask uses pulsed light at 100Hz, which is invisible to the naked eye, and therefore comfortable to wear. It is not necessary to wear goggles with Maysama Prana LED Light Therapy Mask because the light intensity is lower and it is not directed into the retina.
