Maysama recommend Pulsed Light LED Therapy treatments for the best results for skin rejuvenation. Pulsed Light (PL) with Maysama's Pulse40 panel delivers a strobing effect, which is a very different sensation to regular, static, continuous wave Red Light Therapy Treatments. If you are new to Red Light Therapy, we recommend starting low and slow and using continuous wave (CW) treatments until you are more accustomed to the brightness of your panel and the general concept of red light therapy.
Before you start your first treatment, check for any sensitivity to light by testing with just one minute of continuous wave (CW) light.
All being well, then gradually increase your treatment time to the recommended treatment time of six minutes of continuous wave.
Be sure to wear your goggles every time to reduce light intensity.
Once you have adapted to your Red Light device, we recommend that you start to introduce pulsed light to your routine.
Start by adding on just one minute of Pulsed Light (PL) after your 6 minute Continuous Wave (CW) treatment. For best results for anti-aging, use a combination of red + near infrared [ R + I].
Then, when you are ready, reduce your CW treatment time to 3 minutes and increased your PL wave treatment to 3 minutes.
Then, finally, for optimal results for skin rejuvenation, we recommend that you start with one minute of CW light to kick-start bio-stimulation, then follow this with 6 minutes of pulsed light.
Repeat this protocol minimum of three times per week, for a minimum period of 4-6 weeks.
If you struggle to adjust to pulsed light, here are some top tips to help you adjust;
- Always wear your goggles!
- Sit in a well-lit room (to reduce the differential between outside light and panel light)
- Turn your head at a 20-30 degree angle to one side and then switch to the other side half-way through your treatment (this will ensure that the light is not directed at the retina)
- If you find the light too bright, reduce the intensity of the light to 50% (this will still give you an effective treatment)
- Lastly, if you are still striving to use pulsed light but find that you can't adjust, consider using just near infrared light on the pulsed setting. Near infrared light is invisible to the naked eye, so there is no strobing effect.
