What is the irradiance of the AURA?
The AURA mask provides the option of pulsed or continuous wave light. The default setting is pulsed LED.
Please find the irradiance, peak pulsed power, dose, and treatment times for each mode below:
| Mode | CW Irradiance (mW/cm²) | Pulsed Light Peak Power (mW/cm²) | Dose (J/cm²) | Treatment Time |
| Red + NIR | 26 | 41.6 | 9.36 | 6 minutes |
| Red only | 15 | 24 | 9 | 10 minutes |
| NIR only | 11 | 17.6 | 6.6 | 10 minutes |
What are the treatment modes and session times?
| Mode | Wavelengths | Treatment time |
| Mode 1 | Red + Near Infrared | 6 minutes |
| Mode 2 | Red only | 10 minutes |
| Mode 3 | Near Infrared only | 10 minutes |
What wavelengths does the AURA use?
The AURA uses two clinically studied wavelengths: red light (630nm) for surface skin benefits (collagen stimulation, tone, texture) and near infrared (NIR) at 830nm for deeper tissue penetration (cellular repair, inflammation, circulation).
What is the battery life?
The AURA has been engineered for consistent, reliable battery performance across multiple sessions. Because treatment times are short (6–10 minutes per session), the battery supports many sessions per charge under normal use. Full charging and usage details are included in the device guide supplied with your mask. If you have specific questions about battery performance, please contact our support team.
EMI and safety
Is it safe to use the AURA's battery close to my face?
The AURA has been designed and tested to comply with applicable electromagnetic interference (EMI) and safety standards for consumer electronic devices. The battery emits only extremely low-level non-ionising energy, which is well below international safety limits and is not harmful to the brain, nerves, or hair follicles — comparable to other everyday devices worn close to the body, such as earphones or smartwatches.
Do I need eye protectors?
The AURA's comfort-fit design is engineered for close skin contact and precise, even light distribution, which means eye protectors are not required for normal use. However, optional soft silicone eye inserts are available as an add-on at checkout for customers who prefer additional comfort around the eye area.
Money-back guarantee and returns
Is there a money-back guarantee on the AURA?
The AURA LED Face Mask and Neck2Dec are both covered by our 30-day money-back guarantee.
What is the standard return policy?
Maysama accepts returns of unused and unopened products within 14 days of delivery, subject to standard purchase conditions. Items must be returned in their original packaging with all tamper seals and protective films fully intact. Return carriage costs are not covered by Maysama. To arrange a return, contact support@maysama.com in the first instance.
Getting started
How often should I use the AURA?
We recommend using the AURA LED Light Therapy Face Mask a minimum of 3–5 times per week. Consistency is key with LED therapy — short, frequent sessions outperform occasional longer ones.
What should I apply to my skin before a session?
Apply Maysama Green Rooibos Serum to clean skin immediately before your session. The serum is specifically formulated to work synergistically with LED light therapy. Avoid applying heavy oils, SPF, or occlusive products immediately before treatment.
I have a medical condition — can I use the AURA?
Please refer to our article If I've got a medical condition, can I use this? for detailed guidance. As a general principle, if you are pregnant, have an active cancer diagnosis, use photosensitising medications, or have a medical implant, please consult your healthcare professional before beginning LED therapy.
My question isn't answered here — who should I contact?
Our support team is available Monday to Friday, 9AM–5PM (UK time) at support@maysama.com. We aim to respond to all enquiries as promptly as possible.
